Sucking Sorrow - Story

His heart was pounding at that moment. In fact he felt like, it wanted some rest after beating so fast.
he doesnt know when can he regain his senses back.
News he heard was not regular masala unknown/unrelated news
from tv channels rather its more of really heart breaking news for him.
He just fell down at that moment at same place in disbelief and sorrow.

Last days of the winter season, weather was cool and lovely, asusual that morning also was still dark and dim.
some people still struggling to wake up from their sleep, some are very busy getting ready to goto work, but some were already working hard for their livelihood. Traffic on roads was slowly picking up to its peak.

He had risen from bed after sun had risen from the dark. Went out of his building and was standing at the same place as part of the daily routine. Anxiously Looking for his partner in the activity they do together everyday.
They are friends from a long time, but their friendship is special. They are not buddies from same school or college or not friends through web. They became friends through this activity. They used to do it together from a long time and theres a nice relation and rapport developed between them.

That activity is nothing but smoking. Their meeting was very routine started with asking for fire to litup smoke, he was a driver of iron scrap transport vehicle. There was a iron scrap godown in that neighbourhood and he was newly joined driver at that firm.
So everyday after finishing the scrap unloading from vehicle, driver used to take a break and accompany him in smoking activity. In no more time, they became close, used to share and talk about their work, rumours, politics and do all kind of chitchatting. One day, partner told him that he had a baby boy yesterday and he was so happy and elated about his boy and small family he had.
He was happy for his partner and they both had some good time for some days later.

But this morning he was still waiting and looking for his partner to come and awaiting to listen things about the boy who was now 1 yr old. Many minutes passed by, but still partner didnt come. Its getting late for his office so he finished off his puff of smoke and left to his house. On his way to office, stopped to see some group gathered opposite scrap godown and asked one of them about the cause.

His partner was no more in this world, leaving him alone with cigarettes, smoke and sorrow. He was quite shocked to know that
reason behind the death was excessive smoking. He never thought even in his fearful dreams that he will be the partner in death cause of his companion. They used to talk everything but never realized or discussed about what they are doing to their health meanwhile.

He cannot do anything about his dearest partner now since its already late, Thrown away the pack from his pocket to gutter beside and left the smoke behind going ahead towards life.
